We get YouTube on the internet or go to Google and there will be a link to YouTube, since Google owns YouTube.

How much does it cost?

To have an YouTube account is completely free.

What are the brands and models available?

There are a lot of websites that are similar to YouTube but these are just 2 examples: Break.com and Buzznet.com

How is it or could it be used for learning at school?

The informative videos could be good for students if they don’t like reading information. If you wanted to research, you could search it on YouTube and you could get from there. Instead of a boring presentation, you could make a nice presentation with YouTube, it will be more entertaining.

Web 1.0 VS Web 2.0

Web 1.0:
  • 'They use basic html (hypertext mark-up language) for publishing content on the internet. These are static web pages.'
  • 'They have Read-Only content.'
  • 'The web master is solely responsible for updating users and managing the content of the website.
  • 'They do not support mass-publishing.'
  • "Webmaster manually assigns all the hyperlinks to the content of the web page."
  • "The contact information provided by Web 1.0 is email, fax, phone number and the address."
  • "They use framesets."
  • "The Web 1.0 pages can only be understood by humans (web readers). They do not have machine compatible content."  (information from, http://web-updates.avenuesnepal.com/web-10-vs-web-20/)

Web 2.0 is better because it

Which elements of Web 2.0 suits your need as a student

Wikipedia or Google for example are the 2 things i use when i am doing a project from school. It has given me so much help and has saved me time instead of going to the library and finding the information. Having internet around helps.

It helps me share ideas with other people and see their opinion. Hotmail is also a great thing to have because i could use it as backup if i lose my USB and i also use Hotmail for chatting with my friends who are (for example) in my group for a project. It is really useful to have such things as this.

What are the disadvantages of the elements that Web 2.0 covers?

Here are some disadvantages:

·      Vandalism is easy
·      Dependence, you can be easily targeted at from hackers.
·      Anonymity can cause hate
·      Social networking overload
·      Negative comments or opinions may happen.
·      Arguments may happen

Above are just some of them, there are of course many others.

What are the benefits/advantages of using the elements that web 2.0 covers?

Here are some of the advantages:
  • ·      The communication through the Internet or the phone apps (for examples)
  • ·      It is quite easy and is much faster to get information. You could just type any topic you want to know in Wikipedia or Google for example.
  •    Easy and simple to use.
  •    Collaboration can be processed.
This are just some of the advantages, there are of course more.
