Describing Digital Portfolios



What is a blog?
A blog is a way to record your ideas and thoughts during the learning process. It could also help you explore and develop new ideas by ‘thinking out loud’.
What is a wiki?
A wiki allows visitors to make corrections or contributions.
The differences between them:
·       Wikis are better at archiving information for easy access. 
·       Blogs are better at quickly sharing new information.
What is an online Digital Portfolio?
 A digital portfolio is a collection of digital evidence managed by a user, usually on the Web. Such digital evidence may include inputted text, electronic files, images, multimedia, blog entries, and hyperlinks.   
Digital Portfolio’s 3 important features:
·       They allow parents or teachers to see the work of a student without interpretation of the grades.
·       It is goal-driven
·       It could compare the work of the student over time, if it is maintained properly.
One advantage and disadvantage of a digital portfolio:
·       Advantage – It could help students improve in self-reflecting.
·       Disadvantage - The information could be easily copied.
